A Short and Light, Sparse Dipolar Halbach Magnet for MRI

چکیده

Recently designed dipolar Halbach magnets used in portable MRI systems are much lighter and more compact than standard permanent or superconductive magnets. However, improved designs manufacturing techniques aiming at lower weight smaller external size an area of continual interest especially for application to space flight. Most magnet design aim optimize homogeneity suitable over a diameter-spherical volume (DSV) that requires the aspect ratio (length/inner diameter) be larger 1.5:1. Furthermore, current construction often use low-coercivity magnetic pieces imperfect formers produce mismatch intended designs. As result, require complex shimming methods improve field homogeneity, causing further increase. Here, we propose reduce by optimizing cylindrical region (ROI) rather DSV, applying genetic algorithm, high-coercivity ferromagnets (N40UH) robust technique. The assembled 67 mT magnet, with ~ 1:1, produces almost identical (11152 ppm) as simulations (11451 within 12.7 cm diameter, 1 long cylinder ROI. structure was 3D printed ring-by-ring coaxially. can disassembled transportation.

Optimal Halbach Permanent Magnet Designs for Maximally Pulling and Pushing Nanoparticles.

Optimization methods are presented to design Halbach arrays to maximize the forces applied on magnetic nanoparticles at deep tissue locations. In magnetic drug targeting, where magnets are used to focus therapeutic nanoparticles to disease locations, the sharp fall off of magnetic fields and forces with distances from magnets has limited the depth of targeting. Creating stronger forces at depth...

Ferromagnetism, glassiness, and metastability in a dilute dipolar-coupled magnet.

%e have measured the ac magnetic susceptibility of the model dilute dipolar-coupled Ising system LiHo„Y& -„F4. The x 0.46 material displays an ordinary ferromagnetic transition, while the x 0.045 and 0.167 samples are two very different magnetic glasses. Thermal relaxation times are more than five times longer for x 0.167 than for x ~0.045. In addition, the more concentrated glass shows history...

passivity in waiting for godot and endgame: a psychoanalytic reading

this study intends to investigate samuel beckett’s waiting for godot and endgame under the lacanian psychoanalysis. it begins by explaining the most important concepts of lacanian psychoanalysis. the beckettian characters are studied regarding their state of unconscious, and not the state of consciousness as is common in most beckett studies. according to lacan, language plays the sole role in ...

MRI without the magnet.

T here is no doubt that magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has had an enormous impact in science and medicine. Dating back to the initial ‘‘zeugmatography’’ work of Paul Lauterbur (1) and echo-planar imaging by Peter Mansfield (2) in the 1970s that resulted in their 2003 Nobel Prize, MRI has undergone dramatic progress over the ensuing years (3). For example, functional MRI is being widely used t...
